The Unit is committed to providing its servises conforming to the highest ethical standards.
 
Genetic Counseling
Genetic counseling is provided in a non directive manner ensuring strict confidentiality.
 
Genetic Testing
Genetic testing is accompanied by pre- and post-test counseling. Written informed consent is obtained for testing.
  
Medical Photography 
Written informed consent is obtained before taking photographs of patients.
  
Research
Research conducted in the Unit is subjected to Ethics Review by the Ethics Review Committee of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. Written informed consent is obtained from participants prior to recruitment to any study.
